Brett Barley Takes On Winter Storm Riley
After getting his butt kicked at his go-to spot, the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, North Carolina’s Brett Barley packed his truck with a couple PigDog’s and drove nine hours through the night to New Jersey, home to a newly formed sandbar dubbed “Newmibia.”
Named after the fabled left-hander in Namibia, the New Jersey version lived up to its moniker and delivered barrel after barrel for surfers from near and far. “Man that was crazy!” said Brett following the marathon session in New Jersey. “That sandbar was phenomenal. The fun factor was through the roof and I got the longest barrel of my life—a fifteen second, three-foot barrel [laughs]. That’s what it’s all about, the adventure and making the most out of every situation."
