Sheldon Paishon Wins WSL Rangiroa Pro
Sheldon Paishon aka the “Makaha Kid” just took down a talented field of competitors on his way to a win at the WSL Air Tahiti Nui Rangiroa Pro.
Held in the idyllic Tuamotu Islands, Sheldon rode a 5’7” Blackout model in Supertech construction while bobbing in weaving through reef pass barrels. He was also wearing our new 4-way stretch Chromatik boardshorts which will be available soon!
At one point when he was a kid, his family fell on tough times, became homeless and lived on the beach in a tent. “I didn’t know any better, I thought I was killing it living right on the beach!” he said. To make money, he used to chase wild goats barefoot through the dense and thorny kiawae bushes, catch the unlucky ones, and sell them to people as pets.
Kid is tough as nails!
Sheldon has been through a lot in his young life, but always kept his chin up and eyes on the prize. We’re stoked to be on this journey with Sheldon and wish him the best of luck in the next WQS event, the Papara Pro Open Tahiti.
